A number of years before her passing, Nancy moved back to her family home on Alameda, which is just around the corner from my house.

We used to walk together in the early morning.   I will always treasure those years in my heart of memories.  Nancy was a very special person.  She had the most welcoming smile each morning that we met on the sidewalk at Brewster & Alameda.   We laughed a lot, and sometimes cried a little.  She trusted me with her thoughts and I trusted her with mine.   I can't walk Brewster Ave. without looking down there where I would see her coming...remembering her baseball cap, her yellow slicker on rainy days, and that wonderful smile.
We did some traveling together.  In 1997 we took the Canada College tour guided by our teacher Mrs. Cory to Turkey.   Classmate and dear friend Julie Johnson Monda also took the tour.  It was nearly 3 weeks of outstanding memories.    Ruie Simmers formed a Book Club a few years before Nancy's passing. Nancy & I were in with the very first members.   It was a dream come true for Nancy.  She had mentioned many times how much we wanted to join a book club.  Oh how many fun nights we had sharing more than just the books!

My first recollection of Nancy was Freshmen year.  I came in to the first day of P.E. looking around, didn't know a soul.  Nancy approached me with those childlike innocent eyes, welcoming smile and introduced herself.  We became instant friends.   I feel grateful and honored to have had Nancy as my friend.  I miss her.

Nancy was the kindest person that I have ever met.
