OPPELT, Joseph Earl Passed away in Santa Rosa on May 30. 2004. Dearly beloved husband of Trish Oppelt of Santa Rosa; loving father of Scott Oppelt of San Francisco, Ryan Oppelt and his wife Sarah of San Francisco and Kevin Oppelt of Los Angeles; beloved son of Olga Oppelt of Santa Rosa; dear brother of John Oppelt and his wife Bonnie of Fresno; adored grandfather of Olivia Oppelt of San Francisco; he is also survived by 2 nieces. Born in Detroit, MI, he was 55 years of age. A graduate of Sequoia High School in Redwood City and College of San Mateo, he was a Firefighter/Engineer for 30 years for the City of San Jose. A United States Army veteran, he served in Vietnam as an Artillery Communications Specialist. He loved running and gardening, was a true nature admirer who enjoyed kayaking and canoeing activities and especially family travel. Graveside Services were held on June 9, 2004 at the St. Helena Cemetery. In his memory, donations are preferred to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA, ) P.O.
